Janice on LASIK, Kayaking and Her Active Lifestyle!
My husband and I live a very active lifestyle. We spend our leisure time rock climbing, swimming and kayaking. We love water sports and tend to vacation where we can scuba dive and surf, activities that all made wearing my contacts a huge hassle.
I have been wearing glasses and contacts since my freshman year in high school My astigmatism and nearsightedness was so bad, I could only see things if they were right in front of my face. When I went kayaking, water would get into my eyes, beading up on the contacts and making it difficult to see. It got to the point that I would have to wear glasses if I took a kayak trip, and dealing with my vision correction ruined the experience. Once, while I was surfing, my contact fell out. I managed to grab it off the board but only after it had been in the salty water. OUCH! I also could not open my eyes underwater, which was a big problem.
I had thought about getting LASIK surgery for a very long time, but I was afraid of something going wrong. Then, I read an article about a big wave surfer who had the surgery. I realized if he was fine surfing those huge waves after Z-LASIK, I would be fine, too.
I saw billboards for Dr. Ceravolo and North Columbus Eye Center, which advertised the Z-LASIK procedure with the Ziemer Laser. Because the surfer I admired had undergone a Z-LASIK procedure, I knew that was the LASIK surgery I wanted, so I contacted North Columbus Eye Center.
The results of my surgery were amazing. Getting the LASIK surgery was the best decision I ever made. I have so much fun while not worrying about contacts or glasses. The first thing I noticed was that I could see immediately, and I have had no issues or problems since. Though I was nervous about my procedure, Dr. Ceravolo made me feel completely at ease, walking me through the entire process.
If you are afraid of LASIK surgery, don’t be. If I can do it, anyone can. For those who think it is too expensive, North Columbus Eye Center offers excellent financing packages, and I figured out the surgery would pay for itself in three years, since I don’t have to buy glasses or contacts.
I tell friends and family with vision problems to make an appointment at North Columbus Eye Center. The decision to go there was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
